1983 Joust by Williams
FOR SALE - Asking $16,000.00
If you have come to this page you probably already know the history, rarity and collectibility of this game. If not, there are several web pages and videos dedicated to these machines and it's history. The machine detailed here is my personal machine which I am now offering up for sale.
Here is the Internet Pinball Database Link for the Joust by Williams
First the simple facts. This machine is one of the finest examples of a Joust Pinball that exists. Great care and effort has been taken to not only restore this machine but to do so in such a way that it will play well and provide years of competitive head to head pinball fun. This restoration and the upgrades applied have not been cheap nor the work low-grade. It is for these reasons, combined with the collectibility of this machine, that the asking price has been established.
Purchased in 2018 from an antique dealer liquidation auction the full purchase price was just over $6,500. The machine was complete with the exception of the support legs and levelers. The initial restoration of the machine used the original playfield, plastics and PCBs. However, the machine struggled to play effectively and the original playfield had quite a bit of wear on it.
After a conversation with my good friend and business partner Ken Graham (deceased in 2021), it was decided to build the best Joust pinball machine that I could. Ken worked for Williams when Barry Oursler was designing this game. Ken's office was next to Barry's and Ken was instrumental in the play testing and feedback of the developing game. With Ken's knowledge combined with my own capabilities and labor, the following components and upgrades were done to the machine.
